A tough job calls for a Tough Guy®!
Sterling engineers their heavy-duty Tough Guy® Contractor Wheelbarrows to outlast and outperform all other brands. They manufacture the tray using a heavy 16-gauge steel tray. They cut, form, and fold this steel to produce a double-lapped thickness. The 7-cubic-foot tray features a uniquely deep and narrow design. It carries 15% more material than standard 6-cubic-foot models. This heavy-duty tray weighs a full 36 pounds, 9 pounds heavier than its closest competitor! Sterling utilizes a multi-spot weld process on the rim and body sides. This enhances the areas where many other units deform. They reinforce the tray rim with a continuous 5/16-inch rod. The 1/4-inch nose guard is more substantial than the competitions standard 1/8-inch thick sheet metal. The V-shaped front tray braces and undertray support plate further increase this units durability.
Tough Guy® Contractor Wheelbarrows also feature a far-forward undercarriage position. This positioning makes it easier to lift and transport the unit. Since 80% of the load weight stays over the tire, you can carry heavier loads with less effort and with less strain on your arms! The handles do not bolt together like standard wheelbarrows. Instead, a one-piece welded 10-gauge U-channel leg fits into routed wood handles. Choose from either a pneumatic tire or Poly-U® no-flat tire below.
The Sterling Wheelbarrow Company delivered its first unit to a local Milwaukee foundry in 1904. Today, Sterling still calls Milwaukee home. Since that time it has maintained its reputation as the most durable wheelbarrow on the market. It has earned the trust of professionals the world over. Unlike most competitors, Sterling does not mass-produce or import their products. Sterling employs skilled workers and makes each wheelbarrow right here in the USA! Their Tough Guy® Contractor Wheelbarrows last 2 to 3 times longer than the competition. Their unique tray support system is the key to this durability. If the system ever fails due to manufacturer defect, Sterling will replace it at no cost. Period.
